Job description:

Talent Acquisition Advisor

Clerk Grade 7/8

• Manage recruitment from workforce need through to appointment

• Help improve the hiring experience for managers and candidates

• Join a Talent Acquisition function focused on service, judgement and better ways of working

We are recruiting Talent Acquisition Advisor roles, Ongoing and Temporary, at Clerk Grade 7/8, with a minimum salary of $116,981.00 negotiable on experience plus superannuation . The roles are based in Sydney, with flexible ways of working supported.

What it's like to work at Legal Aid NSW

Recruiting people who help deliver access to justice

Every person we recruit contributes in some way to Legal Aid NSW delivering access to justice. We recruit across a large and diverse organisation, including frontline legal services, corporate functions, specialist professions and regional locations across NSW.

That makes Talent Acquisition here varied, challenging and important.

We are modernising People & Culture

Legal Aid NSW is modernising how People & Culture works. We are building a more connected and responsive service model, using better technology, clearer service pathways and stronger insights to make HR simpler, more consistent and easier to access for employees and leaders.

Talent Acquisition is an important part of that change. We are building a more portfolio-aligned recruitment model with strong hiring manager support, better candidate management, smarter use of internal mobility and talent pools, and more consistent recruitment data and processes.

Why this role matters

As a Talent Acquisition Advisor, you will manage end-to-end recruitment for an assigned portfolio and help hiring managers turn a workforce need into a well-run recruitment process.

That includes advising on recruitment pathways, advertising, candidate attraction, assessment and selection, documentation and process requirements. You will also support internal workforce movement, including expressions of interest, acting opportunities, temporary assignments and redeployment pathways.

What this role is like day to day

You will usually have several recruitment processes moving at once. Some will be straightforward. Others will need judgement and problem-solving.

A manager may need help choosing an assessment approach. A role may be difficult to attract. A campaign may need to move faster. A candidate issue may need careful handling. An internal movement may require additional advice.

Your job is to keep recruitment moving while protecting fairness, quality and compliance.

What you'll be trusted to do

- Manage end-to-end recruitment campaigns for assigned portfolio roles, keeping activity accurate, timely and aligned with business priorities

- Advise hiring managers on recruitment pathways, advertising options, assessment methods, selection documentation and process requirements

- Support internal workforce movement, including expressions of interest, acting opportunities, temporary assignments and redeployment pathways

- Coordinate candidate,

panel and hiring manager activity and keep recruitment processes moving against agreed timeframes

- Maintain accurate recruitment documentation, candidate communication and process records

- Identify recruitment risks, candidate attraction issues and process problems and escalate complex or sensitive matters where required

- Use recruitment systems, data and reporting to track campaign progress and improve recruitment delivery

- Work closely with People Services & Support so the transition from recruitment to commencement is accurate, timely and well coordinated

You'll succeed in this role if you…

You enjoy recruitment but do not see it as an administrative process. You understand that good recruitment combines service, judgement, pace and process discipline.

You are likely someone who:

- has experience managing recruitment, selection or workforce movement in a complex service environment

- likes working directly with hiring managers and giving practical advice

- can manage multiple campaigns without losing control of detail

- communicates clearly and professionally with candidates, including when the message is difficult

- understands why valuable process matters without making process harder than it needs to be

- can recognise risk and knows when to escalate

- is comfortable using recruitment systems, data and technology to manage and improve delivery

- Knowledge of NSW public sector recruitment, merit and mobility requirements will be valuable.

Essential Requirements

- Undertake relevant pre-employment checks such as Criminal Record Check, and Conduct Service Check.
- Relevant experience in recruitment, human resources or workforce services.
- Willingness to travel to regional and metropolitan offices as required.
- Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing roles) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary roles)
