About the Opportunity

This role provides early childhood teaching expertise and educational leadership across Council’s education and care services in Perth and Cressy.

Working with the Childcare Director, Room Leaders and educators, you will strengthen curriculum, teaching practice, documentation and continuous improvement. You will also work directly with children and in educator-to-child ratios when required.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide early childhood teaching and educational leadership across Council’s programs.
- Coach educators and strengthen curriculum planning, documentation and reflective practice.
- Support consistent implementation of approved learning frameworks and inclusive practice.




- Contribute to quality improvement, self-assessment and Assessment and Rating preparation.
- Promote child safety, wellbeing and active supervision.
- Act as Responsible Person when formally designated and support operational needs across services.

The salary package offer for this role will be commensurate with the experience of the successful candidate.

About You

You are an experienced early childhood professional with robust teaching, educational leadership and coaching skills. You work collaboratively, communicate clearly and are committed to child safety, inclusion and high-quality practice.

To be considered, the selection criteria is:

Essential:

- An ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Teacher qualification and eligibility for designation as Educational Leader.
- At least five years’ relevant teaching or educational leadership experience, including two years as an Early Childhood Teacher in a centre-based service.
- Strong practical knowledge of the NQF, EYLF and MTOP
- Demonstrated coaching, mentoring, communication and quality improvement skills.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration, driver licence and required first aid qualifications, or ability to obtain them

Desirable:

- At least 3 years experience on the floor as a Cert III or Diploma Qualified Educator
- Experience supervising or coaching Room Leaders/educators in operational practice.
- Experience supporting Assessment and Rating preparation and/or quality improvement planning.
- Experience in OSHC and Vacation Care programs.





Additionally, you will demonstrate sound judgement when handling sensitive child issues and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
