About the role

Domus Lighting is an Australian family-owned lighting business supplying the wholesale market. We are seeking an organised and proactive Operations & Production Coordinator to develop and manage the systems, stock controls and workflows supporting production and warehouse operations.

You will work closely with our production, warehouse and sales teams to coordinate priorities, maintain the availability of accessories and components, and ensure production work is properly planned and ready to proceed.

An initial priority will be establishing an effective management system for accessories and components within the production area, including developing storage structures, product identification methods, stock controls, replenishment processes and reporting. The warehouse and production teams will assist with the physical implementation and ongoing handling requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Design and implement an organised stock management system for production accessories and components.

- Establish storage structures, item identification, labelling standards and stock location controls for implementation by the warehouse and production teams.

- Manage stock levels, analyse usage and coordinate replenishment to support production requirements.

- Develop cycle-counting and stocktake processes, review results and investigate discrepancies.

- Maintain accurate system records for accessories and components, including usage, returns, damaged stock and wastage.

- Plan and coordinate the preparation of components required for scheduled production, with physical picking and handling completed by the warehouse and production teams.

- Develop and maintain accurate component lists and bills of materials in consultation with the production and product teams.

- Liaise with suppliers to confirm product availability, monitor order progress and follow up on production and delivery schedules.





- Coordinate production priorities and ensure the relevant teams have the information and materials required to complete scheduled work.

- Identify potential shortages, delays and operational issues early and coordinate appropriate action.

Skills and Experience

- Experience in operations coordination, production planning, supply coordination or component stock management within a wholesale, distribution or manufacturing environment.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables used to analyse stock, component usage and operational performance.

- Experience developing or improving stock control systems, production processes or component management procedures.

- Experience managing supplier orders with extended lead times, coordinating freight documentation and communicating with suppliers across different time zones.

- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate work across different teams.

- Clear and proactive communication skills, with the confidence to follow up actions and keep relevant people informed.

- Robust attention to detail when reviewing stock information, product specifications, order quantities and delivery schedules.

- A practical and analytical approach to identifying problems and improving processes.

- Confidence using inventory or business management systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an advantage.

- Experience working with bills of materials or production planning systems would also be an advantage.
