About the role

n

As a Bulk Loading Plant (BLP) Operator at our Port Adelaide terminal, you'llbe at the heart of Australia's multiple commodity exportoperations, playing a crucial role in ensuring our commodities areloaded safely, efficiently, and on time to meet strict exportschedules.

n

Thesepositions offer the perfect blend of hands-on technical work andteamwork. You'll operate and monitor a range of machinery to loadbulk commodities onto ships, ensuring each load meets hygiene andsafety standards required for export.

n

You willcollaborate closely with other operators, terminal management, andour logistics team to coordinate loading schedules, manage stockhandling, and respond quickly to any issues or challenges thatarise during operations. This means the role is dynamic andfast-paced, requiring adaptability, focus, and a strong commitmentto safety.

Duties include:

- Operate Bulk LoadingMachinery: Safely and efficiently manage the equipment thatloads grain and other commodities in bulk onto ships, ensuringprecision and care to meet export requirements.
n
- Perform RoutineMaintenance: Assist with the upkeep and basic repairs of plantmachinery and equipment to minimise downtime and keepoperations running smoothly.
n
- Safety Inspectionsand Compliance: Conduct and participate in regular safetychecks and plant inspections,



identifying hazards and takingproactive steps to maintain a safe workingenvironment.
n
- Hygiene andCleanliness: Maintain strict hygiene standards around theplant, including cleaning duties, to comply with exportregulations and company policies.
n
- TeamCollaboration: Work closely with your fellow operators,supervisors, and logistics personnel to coordinate loadingschedules and troubleshoot operational challenges.
n
- Training andDevelopment: Participate in ongoing training programs to buildyour skills, stay updated on safety procedures, and improveplant efficiency.
n
- Problem Solving:Respond promptly and effectively to any operational issues orequipment faults, using your initiative to minimise disruptionsand keep the loading process on track.

- Youhave basic mechanical knowledge or a readiness tolearn.
n
- You're proactive andtake initiative, always ready to step up and get the jobdone.

- Safety is your toppriority - you follow procedures closely and encourage a safeworking environment.

- Youadapt easily to changing tasks and can manage multiplepriorities effectively.
n

- Previous experiencein bulk loading or grain handling is helpful but notessential.

Thesuccessful applicant must have or be able to possess aMSIC/Flinders Ports card.
