Electrical and Energy Engineer

n

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Key Competencies

n

n
- BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar/relevant);
n
- More than 3 years' experience on Engineering projects, field work.
n
- Willing to travel to our Afrimat sites
n
- Have own vehicle and driver's license
n
- Have own vehicle and driver's license
n
- The candidate must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
n

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

n

n
- MCC, MV/LV and switchgear design and specification
n
- Electrical single line diagrams and reticulation designs
n
- Cable sizing, calculations, and routing design
n
- Protection philosophy and coordination studies
n
- Attend and sign off on Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT),
n
- Site supervision, budget preparation and commissioning of new installations
n
- Positive working knowledge of Control & Instrumentation (C&I;) including PLCs, VSDs,



P&IDs; and control philosophies
n

n

Energy Engineering, Including

n

n
- Manage electrical energy consumption data and metering platform rollout/operations
n
- Analyse site energy consumption and identify improvement opportunities
n
- Support and drive energy awareness
n
- Support Wheeling and Behind-the-Meter renewable projects
n
- Perform Energy Audits
n
- Manage relationship with Eskom and other electricity suppliers
n
- Conduct designs, feasibility studies and project execution for energy initiatives
n
- Create Scope of Works documentation for contractors
n
- Attend site meetings to understand system requirements
n
