You'll play a key role in mentoring apprentices and tradespeople, coordinating workflow and production schedules, maintaining quality and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement within the machining department—all while remaining hands-on with complex, high-quality machining projects.

The Chance

n

Based at our Naval Base workshop, with an upcoming transition to our brand-new purpose-built facility in Hope Valley, this is a permanent, full-time position offering a wide variety of work across current manufacture, repairs and refurbishment projects.

n

No two days are the same. From precision machining of critical components to manufacturing parts that are no longer available, you'll have the opportunity to apply your skills across a diverse range of industries while working with modern equipment and leading an experienced team.

Machine with Purpose.

n

You're an experienced CNC Machinist who works with precision, takes ownership of your work and understands the importance of delivering quality outcomes.

n

You'll also bring:

n

n
- Strong CAM programming experience using Mastercam (ISO), Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidCAM and Siemens NX CAM
n
- Adequate skills working independently on 5 and 7-axis multi-tasking CNC machine.
n
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
n
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
n
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
n
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
n
- A willingness to mentor apprentices and contribute to a positive workshop culture.
n
- Sound knowledge of machining practices, tooling and precision measurement.
n




- A Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
n
- Proficiency in CAD CAM Programming.
n
- Current WA C Class Driver's Licence and reliable transport.
n
- White Card and Forklift Ticket.
n
- Ability to pass pre-employment medicals, site inductions and drug & alcohol testing.
