Job Description
The permanent part time (up to 0.8 FTE / 32 hours per week) role of Staff Specialist Palliative Care works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that the Braeside Hospital Palliative Care service functions in a way that aligns with the Mission, Vision and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare and ensures that the medical and other care provided to patients is of high quality.

Duties include:
n
n
Provide demonstrably high-quality specialist Palliative Care services to patients in the South-West Sydney Local Government Area
n
To maintain personal professional competence in Palliative Care
n
To work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare
n
Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors and undertake research in Palliative Care as opportunities present.

About you
n
n
Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Palliative Care Medicine in Australia (AHPRA)
n




FRACP or FAChPM or equivalent Consultant qualification.
n
Credentialed experience in multidisciplinary specialist practice in inpatient, consultative, clinic and community settings
n
Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills
n
Demonstrated ability to work in a team
n
Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise
n
Willingness to participate in teaching and research projects
n
Current Driver's Licence
n
Research Qualification (desirable)
