About The Role
n
The Team Leader - Development Services is responsible for supervising a team of assessment planners and specialists to ensure timely and accurate evaluation of development proposals. This role emphasises the importance of high-quality customer service and adherence to Council's Development Services Customer Charter, while providing expert advice to stakeholders throughout the assessment process.

- Manage a specialist team, ensuring alignment with Council's strategic goals and objectives.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and actively seek innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.

- Uphold workplace safety and well-being, ensuring compliance with Council policies and safety laws.

- Build strong partnerships with external stakeholders, including community groups, contractors, and government agencies.
n
- Foster an inclusive and diverse workplace, respecting all individuals and their experiences.

- Implement performance measures to maintain accountability and identify potential risks.
n
- Encourage professional development opportunities for team members through Council's training programs.

- Utilise resources effectively, focusing on sustainability and safety in all operations.

Candidate Profile
n
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in development assessment within the local government sector, complemented by strong leadership and interpersonal skills. A commitment to customer service excellence and continuous improvement is essential for this role.
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or a related field.
n
- A current Class C Drivers Licence and General Construction Induction Card (NSW).
n
- Extensive experience in development assessment, particularly in complex matters.
n
- Strong negotiation skills,
particularly in the context of the NSW Land & Environment Court.
n
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Proven ability to mentor staff and improve processes and procedures.
n
n

- Package: An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.In addition an award vehicle allowance of $10,780 gross p.a will be paid.
n
- Hours of work: Working 35 hours per week. You will have the option of a 19 day month with Council's ADO system (Accrued Day Off).
n
