LS TRADING MECHANICAL & ENGINEERING PTY LTD / TYREPLUS GLADSTONE is seeking an experienced and qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to join the team in a full-time permanent position. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles to a high professional and safety standard.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
n
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and inspecting parts for wear or damage.
n
- Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts and reassembling mechanical components in accordance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
n
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups.
n
- Reassembling engines and vehicle components after repairs have been completed.
n
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper performance and safe operation.
n




- Diagnosing and testing vehicle systems and components with the assistance of computers and diagnostic equipment.
n
- Inspecting vehicles and identifying work required to achieve safe and roadworthy operating condition.
n
- Responding to vehicle breakdowns and carrying out repairs where required.
n
- Maintaining a clean and safe workshop and complying with workplace health and safety requirements.

About you

n

n
- Proven experience working as a Motor Mechanic.
n
- Relevant trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification.
n
- Robust diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
n
- Experience in servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of motor vehicles.
n
- Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
n
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
n
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
n
- Current driver's licence or ability to meet the driving requirements of the role.
