Job Description

As a Chef / Sandwich Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking our menu to a consistently high standard while keeping service fast, organised and efficient. We're a quick-paced Melbourne deli focused on big flavours, quality ingredients and seriously good sandwiches. Our menu includes toasted melts, hoagies, baguettes, fried chicken and deli-style sandwiches, all made fresh to order.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking sandwiches, hoagies, melts and other menu items to order
n
- Working across the grill, fryer and sandwich section
n
- Preparing meats, sauces, pickles, vegetables and other ingredients for daily service
n
- Following recipes, portioning and presentation standards
n
- Managing your section efficiently during busy lunch services
n
- Maintaining consistent food quality and presentation
n
- Completing daily prep and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service
n
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising food waste
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe workspace
n




- Receiving and storing deliveries correctly
n

About you

n

n
- Previous experience as a chef, cook or sandwich cook in a busy café, deli or restaurant
n
- Confident working with grills and fryers
n
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
n
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
n
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
n
- Ability to follow recipes and systems
n
- Good communication and teamwork
n
- Reliable, punctual and organised
n
- Able to work independently when required
n
