Join Ampcontrol's High Voltage Field Service team in Hexham and play a critical role in delivering specialised high voltage testing, commissioning and maintenance services across Australia's mining, utilities, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Whether you're a trade-qualified High Voltage Testing Technician or an experienced High Voltage Testing Officer with an Advanced Diploma or Engineering qualification, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of generation, transmission and substation assets while contributing to complex and high-profile projects across multiple industries.

Working within a highly skilled team, you'll perform laboratory and field-based testing activities, support commissioning programs, undertake fault-finding and diagnostics, and deliver technical solutions that help customers maintain safe, reliable and efficient electrical infrastructure.

What You'll Do

n

As a High Voltage Testing Officer / Technician, you will be responsible for:

n

n
- Performing high voltage testing, commissioning and maintenance activities in laboratory and field environments
n
- Conducting testing on generation, transmission and substation assets
n
- Carrying out insulation, withstand, diagnostic and condition assessment testing of HV equipment
n
- Supporting commissioning and energisation activities for electrical infrastructure projects
n
- Undertaking fault-finding, troubleshooting and technical investigations
n
- Preparing test plans, risk assessments, technical reports and commissioning documentation
n
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, procedures and safe work practices
n
- Liaising with customers, project teams and stakeholders to coordinate testing activities
n
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and the development of testing procedures
n
- Mentoring and supporting team members while contributing to a collaborative team environment
n
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role,



you will have:

n

n
- Electrical Trade Qualification (Cert III Electrotechnology - Electrician)
n
- Experience in high voltage testing, commissioning, maintenance or electrical infrastructure environments
n
- Strong understanding of high voltage equipment, systems and safe work practices
n
- Sound troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
n
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
n
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
n
- Current Class C Driver Licence
n
- Commitment to safety, quality and customer service excellence
n
- Ability to travel to customer sites across NSW and interstate as required
n

Additional qualifications that will be highly regarded

n

n
- Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Degree
n
- Experience within electricity generation, transmission or distribution environments
n
- High voltage commissioning and substation testing experience
n
- Experience using specialised HV testing and diagnostic equipment
n
- High Voltage Switching Operations certification
n
- Current LV Rescue and CPR qualifications
n
- Experience within mining, utilities, industrial or infrastructure sectors
n
- Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights and MR Licence qualifications
n
