Apprenticeships Are Us is seeking a motivated 1st Year Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice to join one of our established host employers in Nowra, NSW.

n

This is an exciting opportunity to begin your apprenticeship in a skilled heavy vehicle workshop, gaining hands‐on experience working with trucks and heavy commercial vehicles while completing your AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

n

No previous heavy vehicle experience is required. If you have a genuine interest in trucks and mechanics, a strong work ethic and are eager to learn, this could be the opportunity to start your career in the heavy vehicle industry.

What You'll Be Doing

n

Working alongside qualified heavy vehicle technicians, you'll develop practical skills across a range of workshop duties, including:

n

- Servicing and maintaining trucks and heavy commercial vehicles.
n
- Assisting with the diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical faults.
n
- Working on engines, brakes, steering and suspension systems.
n
- Assisting with drivetrain and transmission repairs and maintenance.
n
- Replacing and repairing mechanical components.
n
- Conducting vehicle inspections, testing and safety checks.
n
- Learning to use diagnostic equipment and workshop technology.
n
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
n
- Maintaining a safe, clean and professional workshop environment.
n

As your apprenticeship progresses,



you'll take on greater responsibility and continue developing your mechanical, technical and diagnostic skills.

About You

- A current driver's licence, with P1 or above.

- Must be local to Nowra or the surrounding area and able to reliably travel to the workplace each day.
