Job Description

We are seeking a qualified, organised and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join The Rural Lung Unit. This is a permanent part-time position, working Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This is a key support role responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the practice while providing a welcoming and professional experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

- Greeting and welcoming patients and managing patient bookings.
n
- Promptly answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and provide information as needed with patience and clarity.

- Accurately scheduling appointments and managing the practice's appointment system.
n
- Handling patient payments, processing claims and maintaining financial records.
n
- Complete the end-of-day banking reconciliation
n
- Ensuring the reception area is well-organised and presentable at all times.
n
- Providing administrative support to the medical team as required.
n
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding data protection policies.
n

Previous experience medical administration/reception role.

n

Proficiency with Genie software or willingness to learn.

n

Familiarity with Medicare billing processes is preferable.

n

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

n

Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.

n

A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a professional presentation.
