iExpert Werribee About the Role iExpert Werribee is seeking an experienced Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to join its team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, repairing and maintaining electronic devices, replacing defective electronic components, testing repaired equipment and ensuring devices operate correctly before being returned to customers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

n

Examine, inspect and test mobile phones and other electronic equipment to identify hardware, electronic and operational faults. Diagnose faults using appropriate electronic testing equipment, tools and established diagnostic procedures. Dismantle electronic devices and equipment to access defective components, circuitry, wiring and other internal parts.

Adjust, repair and replace worn, damaged or defective electronic components, parts, connectors and wiring. Carry out component-level repairs where appropriate, including repairs involving charging ports, cameras, buttons, batteries and other electronic assemblies. Reassemble electronic devices and equipment following repairs and ensure all components are correctly fitted and connected.

Test-operate repaired equipment and perform necessary adjustments to ensure proper functionality and performance. Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of electronic equipment to minimise faults and equipment failure. Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic principles when diagnosing, repairing, testing and maintaining electronic equipment.

Install and configure replacement electronic components and associated systems as required. Conduct final quality and operational testing before repaired equipment is returned to customers.



Identify recurring faults and advise customers on correct operation, handling and maintenance procedures to help prevent future malfunctions.

Maintain accurate records of faults identified, repairs undertaken, components replaced and testing completed. Maintain repair tools, diagnostic equipment and the technical work area in safe and serviceable condition.

Skills and Experience Required

n

AQF Certificate III in a relevant electronics field, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV; OR at least three years of relevant industry experience where applicable.

Demonstrated experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electronic equipment and devices. Solid knowledge of electronic components, circuitry, wiring and fault-diagnosis procedures. Experience using electronic diagnostic and testing equipment.

Ability to dismantle, repair, reassemble and test electronic devices accurately. Experience with component replacement and electronic hardware repairs. Good technical problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

Ability to interpret technical information and follow repair and testing procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs. Good communication skills with the ability to explain equipment faults, repairs and correct operating procedures to customers.

Ability to work independently and effectively in a busy electronic repair environment.
