About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef/Cook with passion and creativity for food to join our team. The person must be able to work independently in a busy and fast paced environment. the person must also have excellent hygiene practices and be able to communicate well with others in the team.

Key responsibilities as Chef/Cook:

- Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, menus and quality standards.
n
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and cooking.
n
- Monitor the quality, taste, portion size and presentation of meals before service.
n
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, cutting, chopping, marinating, seasoning and portioning food.
n
- Coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to ensure timely service during busy periods.
n
- Maintain consistent standards in food preparation, cooking and presentation.
n
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering food, ingredients and kitchen supplies.
n
- Ensure food and ingredients are appropriately stored,



labelled and rotated to maintain freshness and minimize wastage.
n
- Maintain clean, organized and hygienic kitchen workstations and food preparation areas.
n
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
n
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
n
- Work closely with other chefs, cooks, kitchen staff and front-of-house employees to ensure smooth service.
n
- Prepare meals according to customers' dietary requirements and special requests where required.
n
- Assist with menu planning, development of new dishes and improvement of existing menu items.
n
- Assist with training and supervising junior kitchen staff where required.
n

Requirements:

- Relevant experience as a chef or in a similar kitchen role
n
- Qualifications in Commercial Cookery or a related field
n
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
n
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality
n
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
n
- Passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to grow your culinary skills
