Registered Nurse - Ophthalmic Scrub/Scout n
About the Role:
n We are seeking an experienced
Ophthalmic Scrub Scout Nurse
to join our agile surgical team on a part time basis . The ideal candidate will have experience in the surgical setting and be confident in supporting the surgical team in delivering the highest standards of patient care.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
Prepare and maintain the operating theatre and instruments for ophthalmic surgeries, including retinal cases.
n
Scrub and assist the surgeon during ophthalmic procedures.
n
Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterile field practices.
n
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate productive workflow.
n
Manage and account for surgical instruments and consumables before, during, and after procedures.
n
Support and mentor junior staff when required.
n
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other perioperative team members.
n
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards at all times.
n
Requirements:
n
Registered Nurse (AHPRA or equivalent).
n
Demonstrated experience in
ophthalmology surgery
is highly desirable.
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
n
Commitment to patient safety and high-quality clinical care
n
Australian work rights are required for this position.
