Job Description

Prepare coffee and other beverages to Hissy Fits' recipe and presentation standard, consistently and at pace during peak periods

Take drink orders accurately at the counter

n

Keep the coffee machine, grinder and bar area clean, stocked and ready for the next order

n

Run meals and drinks from the kitchen/bar to the correct table promptly and accurately

n

Check in on tables, explicit finished plates and glassware, and reset tables for the next customer

n

Support the floor during night trade (Thursday-Saturday) as well as day service

n

Greet customers with a warm welcome, and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their visit

n

Answer questions on the menu, specials and dietary options

n

Handle everyday customer concerns politely and calmly, escalating to the Shift Manager where needed

n

Process orders and payments accurately through the POS (Square), including cash, EFTPOS and split bills

n

About you

n

A genuinely friendly, customer-first attitude, even when the café is at full pace

n

Willingness to turn a hand to any task on the floor - coffee, tables, cleaning or the till - without waiting to be asked

n





Reliability and punctuality, including availability for night trade shifts (Thursday-Saturday)

n

Comfortable handling money accurately and honestly

n

Works well as part of a small team and communicates clearly during busy periods

n

Prior barista or hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential - training is provided to the Hissy Fits standard

n

Flexibility to work weekends and at least some night shifts is expected of the role along with peak periods including School Holidays & Tamworth Country Music Festival
