Find out more about us and our purpose.**Your opportunity**Join the team at Townsville Youth Foyer, a unique program that combines safe accommodation with support, coaching and opportunity for young people aged 16-25. The program helps young people build the confidence, skills and independence needed to create brighter futures through education, training and employment. As a Youth Connect Worker, you'll be a positive and consistent presence in the lives of young people, helping create a safe, welcoming environment where they can thrive.

Whether you're providing support during the night, building connections with residents, or helping maintain a stable and supportive community, your work will have a lasting impact. You'll join a passionate and experienced team that believes in young people's potential and celebrates their successes every step of the way. **This service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week across a rotating roster.

We are currently seeking candidates with availability to work Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday night shifts.** Your key responsibilities will be to* Build positive relationships with young people and provide a safe,



supportive and welcoming environment.* Support residents during overnight shifts and respond to issues as they arise.* Encourage young people to stay engaged with education, training, employment and personal goals.* Provide practical support with day-to-day living while promoting independence and confidence.* Complete case notes, handovers and incident reporting in line with organisational requirements.* Work collaboratively with colleagues and external services to achieve positive outcomes for young people.* Maintain a safe residential environment and respond appropriately to risks, incidents and wellbeing concerns. **Requirements for success*** Experience working with young people in youth work, community services, residential care, homelessness, housing or a similar setting.* Ability to build positive relationships and engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds.* A calm, resilient approach and confidence responding to challenging situations.* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.* A commitment to creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments for young people.* Availability to work overnight shifts, particularly Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights.* Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.* Current Driver's Licence with no restrictions Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people. **Your benefits**To ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated,
