Vara Ville Village is a residential lifestyle community located in Mooroopna, Victoria, offering residents a relaxed and secure environment with quality facilities, well-maintained surroundings, and a strong sense of community.

We are currently seeking a motivated and hands-on Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our team on a casual basis.

About the Role

n

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the presentation, safety, and functionality of the village grounds and facilities to a high standard. Working closely with the Village Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the property to ensure residents enjoy a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.

The role involves physically demanding work, including regular manual handling and lifting, along with the safe operation of power tools and maintenance equipment.

Key Responsibilities

n

- General grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, hedging, and landscaping
n
- Operation and maintenance of gardening and maintenance equipment
n
- Upkeep of village facilities,



amenities, and common areas
n
- Undertake minor repairs, cleaning, and general maintenance tasks as required
n
- Ensure presentation standards of the village are maintained at all times
n
- Support protected work practices and maintain a clean and safe work environment
n
- Identify maintenance issues and report them promptly to management
n
- Assist with general property upkeep and operational requirements as needed
n

What You Need to Succeed

n

n
- Previous experience in grounds and property maintenance (community, village, or similar environment preferred but not essential)
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
n
- Ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, carrying, and repetitive physical activities
n
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate power tools and maintenance equipment
n
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Reliable, proactive, and safety-focused attitude
n
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high presentation standards
n

You will be competent in the use of equipment such as:

- Ride-on mowers

- Hedge trimmers

- Whipper snippers

- Chainsaws

- High-powered hand tools
