Remuneration: $109,120.48 to $122,246.87 per annum, plus superannuation & leave loading

About the Role

n

Council is seeking a qualified Building Inspector to provide strong technical guidance, undertake onsite inspections and support the Municipal Building Surveyor to ensure compliance with regulatory responsibilities.

n

The Building Inspector responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

n

n
- Provide robust customer service and a proactive and solution orientated approach to all matters to achieve high-quality outcomes.
n
- Assist the Municipal Building Surveyor and Building Coordinator to perform the statutory duties of the role.
n
- Perform appropriate inspections throughout the municipality in order to check conformity of properties and investigate compliance with the Building Act and other relevant legislation and codes of practice.
n
- Undertake inspections associated with the issuing of Place of Public Entertainment (POPE's).
n
- Oversee building enforcement including preparing briefs of evidence, liaison with legal representatives and attendance to court and hearing as required.

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- A relevant tertiary qualification to hold registration in the category of Building Inspector.
n
- Currently registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) in the category of Building Inspector.
n
- Substantial experience in the public or private building sector or related field.
n
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide audience.
n
- Employee Victorian Working with Children Check.
n
- Valid Driver's Licence.
n
- Satisfactory National Police Check.
n
