Restoring Families Functional Family Therapy FFT CW Therapist - Fixed Term

FFT-CW Therapist – Restoring Families

n

We are looking for a Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW) Therapist to join our Restoring Families team in Yarraville.

n

This is an opportunity to deliver an intensive, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability and complex challenges.

n

Working primarily in the family home and community, you will deliver the FFT-CW model with fidelity, supporting families to strengthen relationships, address risk factors and achieve meaningful and sustainable change.

n

You will work closely with the FFT-CW Team Leader and broader team, with access to structured training, supervision, consultation and ongoing practice development.

n

About you

n

You will bring:

n

n
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or an equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
n
- Relevant experience working with children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability
n
- Strong engagement, assessment and therapeutic intervention skills
n
- Knowledge and understanding of Child Protection systems and statutory frameworks
n




- The ability to work autonomously while working within a structured therapeutic model
n
- Strong organisational, time management and documentation skills
n
- Experience or training in family systems theory and/or cognitive behavioural therapy is desirable
n
- A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and strengths-based practice
n

n

Experience working within FFT-CW will be highly regarded, however is not essential as training and ongoing support will be provided.

n

What you will do

n

As an FFT-CW Therapist, you will:

n

n
- Complete assessments and establish first contact with families within required timeframes
n
- Develop, implement and review FFT-CW treatment and phase plans
n
- Deliver home-based therapeutic sessions in accordance with FFT-CW model fidelity requirements
n
- Work collaboratively with families to support engagement, behaviour change and generalisation
n
- Complete required outcome measures, including NCFAS and CSS measures
n
- Maintain accurate and timely case documentation
n
- Work collaboratively with Child Protection, DFFH and other relevant services
n
- Identify and elevate safety, risk and practice concerns appropriately
n
- Participate in FFT-CW training, supervision, consultation, session recording and quality assurance activities
n
- Contribute to team learning, mentoring and continuous improvement
n
- Support the team and take a leadership role when the Team Leader is on leave
n

The service operates between 8.00am and 8.00pm, so flexibility in your start and finish times is required to meet the needs of children, young people and families.
