Lives Lived Well offers a range of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug services across Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia, helping thousands of people each year navigate AOD-related challenges and build healthier futures.

n

The West Moreton Residential AOD Treatment Service in Ipswich provides live-in withdrawal and rehabilitation for adults across the region. Through 24-hour support and structured treatment pathways, we help people stabilise, reconnect and work towards lasting recovery.

n

We're seeking a passionate Cultural Wellbeing Officer to join our team and help create a culturally safe, welcoming and recovery-focused environment.

n

This is an Identified Position

n

Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

n

As a Cultural Wellbeing Officer,



you will support residents throughout their treatment and recovery journey while strengthening cultural safety, connection and wellbeing across the service.

n

Working closely with residents, staff and community partners, you will help create opportunities for healing, connection and personal growth.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Support residents throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
n
- Facilitate wellbeing activities, yarning circles and group programs.
n
- Support residents to maintain cultural, community and spiritual connections.
n
- Build relationships with local Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and cultural supports.
n
- Provide cultural guidance and support to staff.
n
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
n
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.
n

About You

n

To be successful, you will have:

- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
n
- A culturally respectful, compassionate and non-judgemental approach.
n
- Understanding of culturally safe and trauma-informed practice.
n




- Ability to build trust and rapport with people experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges.
n
- Strong organisational, computer and administration skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- A commitment to self-care, professional boundaries and continuous learning.
n
- A current Australian Driver Licence.
n

Highly regarded:

n

n
- Experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services, Social and Emotional Wellbeing, or Residential Services.
n
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and mental health support.
n
