Job Position: Casual Swimming Coach (with preference for set days each week)

About Us:

Lismore Workers Swim Team is a community-led swimming club with a big heart. We pride ourselves on providing inclusive, high-quality, and affordable swim training to the people of Lismore and surrounds.

We are growing our team and seek a part-time swimming coach to work under the guidance of our existing Head Coach, Kerrie Seymour.
n
Our program includes morning (6.00am - 7.30am) and afternoon sessions (4.00pm - 6.00pm) Mon-Fri. Approximately weekly hours can be negotiated, plus attendance at pre-agreed carnivals (set day rate payment for carnivals).

Our home pool is the Lismore Memorial Baths, and we also train at the Lismore Southern Cross University Pool during winter. Our club currently serves around 100 swimmers from around age 7 years (post-learn-to-swim), to young adults, as well as Masters and recreational swimmers.

Payment rate is $30-35/hr (depending on experience). Partial funding of ongoing professional development is available following completion of a probationary period.

Role Description:

We seek a agile and enthusiastic coach to join our team. Responsibilities include:
n
Under the direction of the Head Coach, provide training and instruction to swimmers through ongoing observation and analysis to enhance their performance.
n
Support the Head Coach to deliver high-quality training programs tailored to the needs of different ages and abilities.
n
Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to swimmers.
n
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
n
Actively promote and embody the club's behaviour expectations.
n
Keep accurate records of training attendance and performance.
n
Provide motivation and fitness advice while passionately mentoring swimmers.
n
Promote participation in Club Night and carnivals – maintain awareness of swimmers' goals and ambitions.
n
Undertake periodic professional development to enhance coaching skills.
n
Attend pre-agreed swim carnivals and represent LWST professionally.
n
Qualifications and Experience:
n
SCTA Member
n
Coaching qualification: Learn to Swim – Teacher of Competitive Stroke or Foundation Coach
n
Competitive swimming background (desired but not essential).
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
n
High level of professionalism, time management, and reliability.
n
Additional qualifications that are relevant to the swimming or sports industry would be highly desirable.
