We're reopening in October under new ownership! Join Magma, a neighbourhood pizzeria on St Georges Road. Wood-fired, dough-led, and a great team built around the oven.

We're looking for a Pizza Chef to join our team. Someone who can own the dough, the fire, and everything that leaves the oven.

n

It's a small, close kitchen where the oven is the service on a busy night. You'll stretch, top and fire at pace without the standard slipping, and keep your station set before the first ticket lands.

n

What You'll Be Responsible For

n

n
- The oven: managing fire and heat through service, turning and pulling pizzas to spec, and keeping the oven moving to a high standard
n
- Dough: following the dough schedule — mixing, balling, fermentation and proofing — and flagging early when a batch isn't right
n
- Stretching and topping: every pizza built to recipe and portion spec, the same on a quiet Wednesday as a packed Saturday
n
- Prep: sauces, toppings and mise en place done to par before service
n
- Clean and safe: your station spotless, stock rotated, temperatures and food safety records right every shift

What We're Looking For





n

You've worked an oven in a busy pizzeria and you know dough is the job. You're quick and tidy on the bench, calm when the tickets stack up, and you take pride in a pizza that comes out the same every time.

- Experience on a wood-fired or high-heat pizza oven in a busy venue
n
- Hands-on dough experience — mixing, balling, and reading fermentation
n
- Speed and consistency stretching and topping to spec
n
- Good habits around food safety, stock and waste
n
- Reliable availability for evening services, including weekends
n

What Success Looks Like

The oven is never the bottleneck, even on the busiest night of the week. Your pizzas & dough are consistent because you're across it, not because someone reminded you. The Head Chef can hand you the oven for a full service and not think about it
