3Eightnine Scarborough is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. Based in Scarborough, QLD 4020, this role is perfect for someone looking for flexible work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting our culinary operations, ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and hygiene.

What you'll be doing

n

Preparing and organising ingredients for cooking and food service

n

Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils and work surfaces to maintain health and safety standards

n

Assisting chefs with food preparation tasks including chopping, peeling and basic food assembly

n

Managing kitchen waste and ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed

n

Loading and operating dishwashers and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen

n

Supporting food service by organising plates and containers for meal delivery

n

Restocking kitchen supplies and monitoring inventory levels

n

Following all food safety regulations and company hygiene policies

n

Responding to changing demands during service periods and assisting team members as needed

n

What we're looking for

Previous experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment is desirable

n

A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

n





Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

n

Ability to work efficiently in a busy and fast-paced setting

n

Excellent teamwork and communication skills

n

Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for casual shift work

n

Willingness to follow instructions and learn new skills

n

A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
