WorkPac Health & Social Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with theatre experience for a short-term contract at Mackay Base Hospital. This is a outstanding opportunity to work within a supportive rural healthcare setting, providing theatre, anaesthetic and PACU/Recovery care.

Mackay Base Hospital is a major hospital providing a range of medical, surgical, emergency, outpatient and specialist health services to the Mackay and surrounding communities. The hospital provides a range of surgical services and supports patients across the region, including perioperative, anaesthetic and recovery care

What You Will Be Doing

n

n
- Preparing patients for surgery
n
- Assisting the surgical team
n
- Scrub and circulating duties
n
- Supporting theatre anaesthesia
n
- PACU/Recovery care
n
- Advanced life support
n
- Cannulation
n
- Monitoring patients and maintaining infection control standards
n
- Ensuring patient safety and comfort
n
- Working in accordance with clinical protocols and standards of practice
n

What You Will Need

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
n
- Previous theatre,



anaesthetics or PACU/Recovery experience preferred
n
- Scrub/scout or circulating experience highly regarded
n
- Advanced Life Support experience
n
- Cannulation competency
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
n
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
n

Desirable

n

n
- ieMR experience
n
- Previous QLD Health / Mackay HHS experience
n
- Previous Australian hospital experience
n

n

- $350 travel allowance each way to Mackay
