Job Description

Barry Bourke Motors is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Automotive Valuers / Buyers to join our team on a full-time basis in Berwick and Doncaster. These are key positions within our sales operation where you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating and acquiring quality vehicles that form the backbone of our inventory. As an Automotive Valuer / Buyer, you will be responsible for assessing vehicle condition, determining fair market values, and negotiating purchases that align with our business objectives and profitability targets. Your expertise and keen eye for detail will directly impact the success of our dealership and our ability to provide customers with exceptional vehicles.

Key responsibilities

Inspect and evaluate vehicles for condition, mechanical soundness, and market value

n

Conduct thorough valuations using industry knowledge, market data and pricing guides

n

Negotiate purchases with private sellers, trade-in customers and other dealerships

n

Research and analyse market trends to ensure competitive and fair pricing

n

Build and maintain relationships with vehicle suppliers and potential sellers

n

Document vehicle inspections, valuations and purchase agreements accurately

n

Liaise with sales and management teams to communicate vehicle acquisition opportunities

n

Attend vehicle auctions and inspections on behalf of the dealership

n

Ensure compliance with all relevant automotive industry regulations and dealership policies

n

What we're looking for

n

Proven experience working as an automotive valuer, buyer or in a similar vehicle assessment role

n

Robust knowledge of vehicle makes, models, condition assessment and market values

n





Excellent negotiation and communication skills

n

Ability to work independently and make sound judgement on vehicle purchases

n

Physical capability to inspect vehicles thoroughly, including under-carriage and mechanical components

n

Valid driver's licence and ability to drive a wide range of vehicles

n

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

n

Familiarity with automotive industry software and valuation tools is advantageous

n

Passion for automobiles and genuine interest in the automotive sector
