We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our Library Services team as a Library Shelving Officer. The successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail to ensure library resources are shelved correctly in alphabetical and numerical order.

What does this role look like:

- Shelve items correctly in strict numerical/alphabetical order according to classification systems.
- Remove items that are damaged (i.e. torn covers missing pages, etc.) and hand over to Shift Supervisor.
- Check & re-shelve books that are out of order to ensure items are correctly shelved in strict numerical/alphabetical order.
- All items must be brought to edges of shelving to ensure even, neat and tidy rows.
- Check if there is a special display highlighting specific authors, themes, events etc.




- Process items through auto-sorter, removing items from bins and loading onto trolleys.

What are we seeking in our new team members:

- A valid Working with Children Check
- Good knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification System
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Benefits of working with us:

This is a part time job, working as below at various Library locations:

- Wednesday – 3 hours as rostered
- Saturday – 3 hours as rostered
- Sunday – 3 hours as rostered
