Nature Conservation Council NSW (NCC) is the state’s leading environmental advocacy organisation. As a peak body, we represent over 200 conservation groups. Our dedicated campaigns for NSW rivers, wetlands, forests and climate are supported by a dedicated team of campaigners and community organisers. Meanwhile, our Healthy Ecosystems team of leading ecologists, scientists, are on the ground using the latest scientific evidence and practical expertise to improve the health of our forests, oceans, rivers, and wildlife, stop extinction, and improve the way we respond to and manage fire.

Our mission is to build, support and maintain a powerful and effective movement for nature. We do this by bringing together the NSW environment movement to run centralised campaigns that exert maximum pressure on decision makers.

About You :

Relevant tertiary education or equivalent experience.

Position Summary :

Position Overview:

The Fundraising Officer plays a pivotal role in securing the sustainable, long-term funding required to fuel NCC's critical advocacy and conservation work. Your primary focus will be growing and nurturing our regular giving program (monthly donors), as well as donor engagement for quarterly appeals.

You will manage the end-to-end donor journey:

- implementing supporter journeys and retention strategies,
- coordinating acquisition campaigns,
- ensuring our regular givers feel deeply connected to our mission,
- supporting the fundraising team to reach quarterly targets.

This role is a mix of data-driven coordination, compelling storytelling, and connected relationship management.

Supervisor title: Communications & Fundraising Manager

Hours: Part time, 30.4 hours per week (negotiable for right candidate)

Contract period: 12 months with possibility of extension

Location: Sydney, NSW OR remote OR hybrid

Key Requirements :

Skills & Experience:

- Fundraising Experience: Demonstrated experience working within a fundraising environment, with a specific focus on regular giving or individual giving programs.
- Campaign Coordination: Proven track record of implementing successful marketing or digital acquisition campaigns.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using fundraising databases or CRMs (we use NationBuilder) for data segmentation, communication, tracking, and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills,



with the ability to distil our core campaigns for our supporters by writing engaging, persuasive content.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously in a team working hybrid, in office and remotely.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot.

Job Responsibility :

- Program Growth & Acquisition: Coordinate and deliver multi-channel acquisition campaigns (digital, direct mail, and telemarketing) to recruit new regular donors.
- Donor Retention & Stewardship: Implement a world-class stewardship journey to reduce churn, including welcome packs, regular impact reporting, and upgrade campaigns.
- Data & Administration: Manage data entry, donor records, and email campaigns within the CRM.
- Content Creation: Draft compelling copy for donor communications, newsletters, emails, and renewal appeals that highlight the impact of their support.
- Reporting & Analysis: Track, analyse, and report on key results to inform future strategies.
- Supporter Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for regular giving enquiries via phone and email, deliver an outreach plan, call potential donors to ask for their support.
