Youth Assistant (Working Towards an Employment Counsellor Qualification)

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Youth Assistant who is currently studying towards a qualification in Counselling, Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Youth Work, Disability, or a related field.

In this role, you will support young people with disability to build confidence, develop independence, explore career pathways, and work towards their employment and life goals. Working alongside our experienced Employment Counsellors and Youth Consultants, you will gain practical experience while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

In this role, you'll:

- Support young people with disability to develop employment, social, and independence skills.
- Deliver individual and small group activities focused on confidence building, goal achievement, and workplace readiness.
- Assist participants to engage in community, education, and employment-related activities.
- Build positive relationships with participants, families, employers, and key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate participant records and case notes.
- Work across a variety of settings, including our offices, the community, and workplaces.

You’ll bring:

Essential:

- Currently studying towards a qualification in Counselling, Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Community Services,



Youth Work, Disability, or a related field.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with disability.
- Robust communication and relationship-building skills.
- Current Driver Licence.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working With Children Check / Blue Card (where applicable).
- National Police Check.

Desirable:

- Experience working with young people or people with disability.
- Understanding of the NDIS.
- Previous support work, customer service, or case management experience.
