Overtime: Available as required
$42 per hour
We are currently seeking a confident and experienced Trades Assistant to join a busy installation team in Penrith.
This role would suit someone who is hands-on, reliable and able to work independently , with experience using both hand and power tools. You will assist with the installation of balustrades, handrails and other associated products , working from plans and following installation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of balustrades, handrails and associated structures
- Use a range of hand and power tools safely and confidently
- Read and interpret plans, drawings and measurements
- Measure, mark out and prepare materials for installation
- Work alongside tradespeople while also being able to work independently
- Ensure installations are completed accurately and to a high standard
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Carry out other general trades assistance duties as required
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or similar hands-on role
- Experience using hand and power tools
- The ability to read and understand plans/drawings
- Experience or knowledge of balustrade, handrail or similar installations highly regarded
- Solid attention to detail and pride in your work
- The confidence to work independently with minimal supervision
- A reliable and positive attitude
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work in a hands-on environment
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
Requirements
- White Card - essential
- Previous experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to read plans
- Reliable transport to Penrith
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00am
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
