Inner West Paediatrics (IWP) is a leading multidisciplinary paediatric practice supporting children and young people with a range of developmental, disability, learning and mental health needs. Our team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Allied Health Assistants and Support Workers who work collaboratively with families to help children and young people thrive at home, school and in their community.

We are seeking passionate, reliable and values-driven Support Workers to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced allied health professionals while supporting children and young people to achieve meaningful goals and participate fully in everyday life.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide individualised support to children and young people across home, school and community environments.

- Supporting children and young people to participate in community, recreational and social activities.
- Assisting with the development of independence, daily living and life skills.
- Implementing capacity-building and therapy support strategies under the guidance of allied health clinicians.
- Building confidence, social connection and community participation.
- Supporting children and young people to work towards their goals.
- Developing positive and professional relationships with families and key stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and shift notes.
- Working collaboratively with children, families and in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Providing support that is line with IWP's neuro-affirming approach.

- Excellent listening and communication skills, with a commitment to maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- A participant-focused, neuro-affirming and person-centred approach to service delivery.
- Patience, flexibility, professionalism and strong work ethics.
- Cultural awareness, sensitivity and respect when working with diverse families and communities.
- Confidence using computer systems, mobile applications and digital platforms to support service delivery and documentation.
- An understanding of current practices, initiatives and developments within the disability and early intervention sectors.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Qualifications in Community Services, Disability, Individual Support; currently studying an allied health degree or a related field and/or relevant industry experience.
- Experience supporting children, young people or people with disability.
- A solid understanding of person-centred practice,



neuro-affirming support and participant-focused service delivery.
- A commitment to supporting inclusion, participation and capacity building for children and young people.
- Knowledge of current developments, programs and initiatives within the Early Intervention and Disability sectors.

Essential Requirements

- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel and comprehensive car insurance.
- Clean driving record.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Full Australian working rights.
