Team Leader – Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Help In Support is seeking a compassionate and experienced Team Leader – Supported Independent Living (SIL) to join our organisation in Melton, VIC 3337. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality support services to individuals living independently with assistance. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring that clients receive person-centred care that promotes their autonomy, dignity and wellbeing. This role is pivotal to our mission of enabling people with disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives within their communities.

Key responsibilities

Supervising and mentoring support workers to ensure consistent delivery of quality care and support services to SIL clients

Developing and implementing individualised support plans that align with clients' goals and preferences, whilst adhering to disability support standards

Managing rostering, scheduling and workload allocation to ensure appropriate staffing levels and service continuity

Conducting regular check-ins and reviews with clients to assess their satisfaction, wellbeing and changing support needs

Providing direct support to clients when required, including personal care, community integration and life skills development

Maintaining detailed and accurate client records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements

Liaising with families, carers, health professionals and other stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive support





Identifying and addressing performance issues within the team and providing coaching and development opportunities

Ensuring compliance with disability support regulations, safeguarding policies and organisational procedures

Participating in team meetings, training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

Proven experience working in the disability support or aged care sector, with demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Current or willingness to obtain relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV in Disability Support or equivalent experience

Strong knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and person-centred support principles

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families and staff

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and lead by example

Sound understanding of safeguarding, duty of care and legislative requirements in disability support

Compassion, patience and genuine commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities

Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the local area





Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and maintain professional boundaries

Preferred: Experience with NDIS planning and coordination, knowledge of assistive technology, or additional certifications in health and safety
