About the role

This is the first management position to be hired within the business and very different to many other Painting Project Manager roles available in the industry. This job is currently being handled by the owner however growth in the recent years requires this role to help the business continue to expand whilst holding the Luxxe Group standard of quality.

As this is the first Project Management role in the company, you have a chance to make this your own and grow with the business. You will have autonomy to manage our projects and have the chance to be a part of something big from the start of our journey! This role will be developed alongside our Director and the right candidate will have the opportunity to really make this role their own. You will be the key point of contact between our job sites, the team and the Director.

This is a management position and is not a role on the tools . The successful applicant will use their knowledge and experience within the painting industry to manage projects, people, clients and day-to-day operations.

You must have previous professional painting industry experience as well as experience in a similar project management, project supervision or operations role within the painting industry .

This position would suit an experienced painter who has moved into project management, or an existing Painting Project Manager/Supervisor looking for their next opportunity.

There is an opportunity for a bonus structure to be implemented into this role for the right candidate. As this is the very first role within the company of this nature, this opportunity will be completely performance based directly linked to the value and results the successful candidate delivers to the business .

About you

To be considered for this position, you must have:





- Previous professional painting experience;
- Experience in a similar Project Manager, Project Supervisor or Operations role ;
- Strong understanding of painting processes, preparation, products, materials and application;
- Experience coordinating painters, subcontractors and other trades;
- Experience managing projects from commencement through to completion;
- Proven experience in client liaison and relationship management ;
- Strong organisational and time-management skills;
- Excellent communication and people-management skills as you will be responsible for the project running smoothly;
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once;
- A strong understanding of project costs, labour, materials and profitability;
- The ability to identify issues and find practical solutions;
- A professional approach when dealing with clients, builders and other stakeholders;
- A current driver's licence; and
- A high attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

Project Management

- Manage our projects from start to finish;
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections;
- Monitor project progress, quality and timelines;
- Review scopes of work and ensure works are completed as required;
- Identify and manage variations and additional works;
- Ensure compliance documents and notes are kept current for each project e.g. SWMS, meeting notes, relevant details about each job, pre start and completion photos & incident reports;
- Coordinate materials, equipment and deliveries; and
- Manage project handovers and final inspections.

Client Liaison & Relationship Management

- Act as the primary point of contact for majority of clients throughout the project;
- Maintain regular and qualified communication with clients;
- Provide clients with project updates, timelines and progress information;
- Manage client expectations from commencement through to completion;
- Attend site meetings and client meetings where required;
- Respond promptly to client enquiries and concerns;
- Resolve issues professionally and efficiently;
- Identify opportunities for additional works and variations;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, builders and key stakeholders;
- Ensure clients receive a high level of service throughout their project;
- Conduct project completion discussions and assist with final client sign-off; and
- Follow up with clients after completion to ensure satisfaction.

Team & Trade Management

- Coordinate and manage painters and subcontractors;
- Provide clear instructions and expectations to the team;
- Monitor workmanship and productivity;
- Address performance or project issues as they arise;
- Ensure the team have the required materials,



information and access to complete their work;
- Maintain company standards for workmanship, presentation and professionalism; and
- Foster a positive and accountable team culture.

Business & Administration

- Report project progress, costs and issues to the Director;
- Assist with estimating, quoting and project planning where required;
- Manage project documentation;
- Maintain accurate project records;
- Assist with improving systems, processes and efficiency within the business; and
- Ensure company policies, safety requirements and procedures are followed.

This is NOT a trades position

You will not be required to work on the tools.

Your painting experience is important because you will be responsible for managing painting projects and a team of painters. You will need to understand the trade well enough to plan works, identify problems, assess quality, manage client expectations and make informed decisions.

The focus of this position is project management, client liaison, coordination, leadership and project delivery , rather than carrying out painting work yourself.

Experience required

Essential:

- Previous experience working in the painting industry
- Previous experience in a similar Project Manager, Project Supervisor or Operations role
- Proven client liaison experience
- Strong understanding of the painting trade
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Current driver's licence

Desirable:

- QBCC licence or relevant construction qualification
- Experience managing commercial, body corporate or large-scale residential painting projects
- Experience managing budgets, variations and completing scope of works
- Experience leading a team of tradespeople
