You'll be an integral part of our People, Culture & Safety team,a passionate, energetic crew who champion everything that makesViva a brilliant place to work. Leading a small and dedicatedpayroll team, you'll own the end-to-end fortnightly pay cycle forour national, multi-brand and predominantly casual workforce. Asour technical payroll expert, you'll apply Modern Awards, theNational Employment Standards, superannuation, tax and payrolllegislation across multiple industrial instruments, and look afterprocessing, reconciliation, Single Touch Payroll, Payday Super,audits and reporting. Just as importantly, you'll bring a genuinefocus on the people behind every payslip, delivering a professionaland positive experience for our employees and managers.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

- Leading the end-to-end fortnightly pay run for ournational, multi-brand workforce, making sure everyone is paidaccurately and on time
- Handling complex calculations and off-cycle pays, includingterminations, parental leave, long service leave, workerscompensation and incentives
- Delivering superannuation under Payday Super, managingSuperStream and clearing house processing, and lodging SingleTouch Payroll (Phase 2) each pay event through to end offinancial year finalisation
- Applying PAYG withholding correctly and completing payrollreconciliations and journals with Finance, including payrolltax and workers compensation declarations
- Acting as Viva's technical payroll expert on Contemporary Awards,the NES and payroll legislation, and implementing Award, taxand super changes accurately by their effective dates
- Running regular payroll audits, maintaining the PayrollError Log with root cause analysis, and calculating anyremediation
- Owning payroll system configuration, health checks anddocumentation, and being the first point of contact with oursystem vendors
- Building automation,



data validation and smart use of AIand digital tools into our processes to reduce manual handlingand error
- Preparing payroll reporting and insights for People &Culture;, Executive and Board, and supporting the payrollintegration of acquired businesses
- Coaching and cross-skilling a small, dedicated payrollteam, and supporting managers and employees with aprofessional, friendly payroll service

SKILLS ANDEXPERIENCE

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience leading end-to-end, high-volume payroll,including reviewing the work of others
- Strong working knowledge of Modern Awards and the NES inmulti-award environments, including penalty rates, junior ratesand annualised salary reconciliation
- Sound knowledge of superannuation and Payday Super, STPPhase 2, PAYG withholding, termination payments, andmulti-state long service leave, workers compensation andpayroll tax
- Experience calculating and remediating underpayments, witha clear understanding of the legal obligations involved
- Experience auditing payroll and time and attendancesystems, with advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Experience with a payroll system implementation ormigration, including testing and parallel runs
- Outstanding attention to detail, a strong compliance focusand a highly structured, process-driven approach
- Exceptional communication skills and a genuine focus ondelivering a positive experience for employees andmanagers
- Integrity, discretion with confidential information and acommitment to living Viva's values
- Highly regarded: experience with ReadyTech, multi-site andpredominantly casual workforces, and the Fitness Industry,Clerks - Private Sector or General Retail Industry Awards

Education & Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, HR or arelated field, or equivalent experience (desirable)
- A formal payroll qualification or certification, such asthrough the Australian Payroll Association (desirable)
