Workability Assessors is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to complete medico-legal Occupational Therapy Care Assessments and Reports for clients involved in workers compensation, CTP and personal injury matters.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist is required.
Skilled indemnity insurance must be obtained for this role.
Must be SIRA registered or open to obtaining SIRA Registration
Prior medico-legal assessment experience is preferred, however not mandatory.
The role involves conducting independent functional and ADL-based assessments and preparing clear, evidence-based Occupational Therapy Care Reports for legal use.
Assessments are completed face-to-face (with some flexibility), with report writing completed remotely.
You will be responsible for assessing the impact of injury on a client's daily functioning, care needs and support requirements, including the identification and quantification of gratuitous care and formal care supports. Reports must be objective, structured and defensible, and completed in line with medico-legal standards.
You will be supported with some structured templates, referral coordination and administrative assistance, allowing you to focus on assessment quality and clinical reasoning.
