Registered Nurse (ICU Experienced) – (Casual Role with 24-32 Hours per week)

National Disability Support and Care (NDSC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with an ICU or Critical Care background to join our growing Community Nursing team on a casual basis

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, delivering complex, high-acuity care while contributing to exceptional participant outcomes.

About the Role

In this role, you will deliver safe, evidence-based critical care while supporting participant through some of their most vulnerable moments. You will deliver nursing services primarily across Newstead , supporting participants with a range of complex clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Complex wound care
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Ventilation support
- PEG feeding and enteral care
- Catheter care (IDC & SPC)
- Insulin administration and diabetes management
- Medication administration and other clinical nursing procedures as required

- Providing high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in a community environment
- Monitoring, assessing and responding to complex clinical scenarios.
- Advocating for participants with consideration of their physical, emotional and spiritual needs
- Collaborating with medical,



nursing and allied health teams to coordinate care
- Maintaining compliance with infection control, safety and quality standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement, quality initiatives and research-informed practice
- Supporting the education and mentoring of less-experienced staff

While you will be visiting participants independently in the community, you will be supported by a strong and responsive clinical support team available 24/7 , providing escalation pathways, expert advice, and guidance when required.

Availability required:

- Monday to Sunday - approximately (24-32 ) hour per week (flexibility may be discussed)

About You

You are an experienced Intensive Care Nurse who is committed to delivering secure, high-quality patient care.

Ideally, you will have:

- Full, unrestricted AHPRA registration
- ICU and/or Critical Care experience (Minimum 2 years)
- Confidence in ventilation management, tracheostomy care, and PEG feeding
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong time management skills and sound clinical decision-making ability
