We’re seeking an experienced Site Surveillance Officer to oversee contracted road and drainage construction works across the Moree Plains Shire Council area. This is a site-based role with regular travel, suited to someone who can work independently and communicate confidently with contractors. The position will involve regular travel across the local government area
In this role, you will:
- Conduct site surveillance of contracted road and drainage works.
- Complete safety, environmental and quality inspections using relevant guidelines and checklists.
- Monitor contractor compliance and the progress of works.
- Act as the on-site representative for NSW Public Works.
- Assist the Contract Administrator with minor contract administration tasks.
- Collect completion evidence, including site photos,
for disaster recovery funding progress claims.
- Identify issues, raise them with contractors and escalat(e) them when needed.
You’ll need experience as a Construction Site Supervisor, Project Engineer or Project Manager in road construction, or civil construction experience in a reactive soil (black soil) workplace. You must be able to interpret contracts, technical documents and design drawings, work autonomously on remote sites, and exercise sound judgement about when to elevate an issue.
A current NSW Driver Licence is essential. Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills are also required.
