Matic Construction Your responsibilities will include: Read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans and specifications to determine dimensions, materials and installation requirements. Plan the sequence of carpentry work, estimate material quantities and prepare cutting lists to minimise waste.
Measure and mark out building components, checking dimensions, levels, alignment and squareness before cutting or installation. Select, inspect and prepare timber, engineered wood and other construction materials suitable for the specified work. Cut, shape and join materials using hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment.
Construct, erect, brace and install wall frames, floor systems, roof trusses and other structural timber components in accordance with project requirements. Follow site inductions, safety procedures and applicable safe work method statements, including controls for work at heights, dust and manual handling.
Maintain clear access routes, remove offcuts and protruding nails, and keep work areas secure and orderly.
Protect completed works from damage and assist with defect rectification, site clean-up and preparation for handover. The successful applicant will have: A relevant carpentry trade qualification or demonstrated carpentry experience for at least 1-2 years A valid White Card. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills. A reliable, punctual approach and commitment to safe work practices.
