PURPOSE

The Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and quality of our autonomous farming robots. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge hardware lidars, cameras, GPS units, embedded systems and collaborate closely with software and robotics teams to integrate, test, troubleshoot, and continuously improve the platform. Your insights and problem-solving will directly influence product quality, customer experience, and the evolution of our robotics ecosystem.

Education and/or Knowledge

- Bachelor's or Master's degree or trade experience in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on skills and experience in areas such as; wiring up electronics, fixing hydraulic issues, etc.
- Familiarity with industry-standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes or multimeters
- Ability and willingness to work in outdoor field environments, including commercial farms, and experience with field testing and data collection.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Hardware & System Integration

- Install, configure, and integrate advanced hardware systems including lidars, cameras, antennas, GPS units, and embedded devices.
- Collaborate with development, robotics, and SwarmConnect partners to integrate new hardware and ensure seamless operation across mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Commission SwarmConnect products, ensuring correct operation and smooth onboarding into the system.
- Design, build, and maintain reliable test setups that span mechanical, electrical, and software layers.

Testing & Validation and Field Operations

- Conduct field testing on commercial farms, running structured test plans and collecting high-quality data to support continuous improvements.
- Perform functional,



regression, and end-to-end testing across hardware and software to ensure system reliability and readiness for release.
- Work closely with the development team to execute test plans, identify defects, and provide clear, actionable feedback for improvements.
- Assist technical support teams to quickly troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues, ensuring our commercial fleet remains operational.

Problem Solving, Diagnostics and Issue resolution

- Investigate complex technical issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Apply solid analytical and debugging skills to improve system stability and eliminate recurring issues.
- Support integration partners by diagnosing problems, validating fixes, and ensuring compatibility with SwarmFarm systems.

Tools, Automation & Technical Enablement

- Develop and maintain software tools and scripts to streamline testing, data analysis, system diagnostics, and integration workflows.
- Contribute to scalable testing processes, documentation, and internal toolkits that enhance engineering productivity and system reliability.
