The Infants' Home has supported children and families since 1874. Based in Ashfield, we are a not-for-profit, integrated child and family service. Our services bring together early childhood education and care, family day care, early intervention, clinical services, family support and community programs. Today we run three integrated early childhood education and care services onsite in Ashfield, and our Family Day Care serves the greater Sydney region.

Since 1874 we have championed the rights of children, women and families and protected those at risk. We guide families to build their strength, skills and confidence for a more positive future. Around 30% of our onsite services target children and families living with vulnerability or additional needs. We are also a member of the Early Childhood Intervention Best Practice Network. About the role

We are seeking a full-time Early Childhood Teacher to join one of our early childhood services based in Ashfield. This role is for a Teacher who wants their practice to have weight. You will work across the early years, from birth to school age, in a setting where play-based learning, intentional teaching, inclusion and family partnership are part of the same conversation.

Grounded in the EYLF, NQF and NQS, you will use observation, assessment and documentation to understand children deeply, then turn that understanding into curriculum decisions that are purposeful, responsive and alive. You will support children with diverse abilities, cultures, backgrounds and additional needs, holding high expectations while adapting your practice with care and precision.

You will work within an integrated service model, alongside educators, teachers, allied health professionals, family support staff and centre leadership.

Child safety is central to how we work.



You will uphold children’s rights, follow child secure practices and service procedures, and support children’s health, wellbeing and medical needs with consistency and care.

About you

An ACECQA approved early childhood teaching qualification

Experience working with children from birth to school age in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting

Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework with a sound understanding of holistic, play-based and inclusive practice

Confidence working as part of a team, including mentoring or supporting the practice of other educators

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build respectful partnerships with families, children and colleagues

A clear commitment to children’s rights, child safety, equity and high expectations for every child

The ability to critically reflect, adapt your practice and contribute to ongoing quality improvement

A commitment to professional learning and continued development in early childhood education

Approved Child Protection training (CHCPRT025 or equivalent)

Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012)

Mandatory national child safety training (Geccko)

Experience working in integrated services, or a genuine interest in interdisciplinary practice, family support and working across age groups in the early years (desirable)
