About the role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager (General) - Take Away Fast Food to join our team at La Petite Crêperie in Melbourne. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic fast food operation and make a meaningful impact on our business. As Retail Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our take-away service, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional customer experiences, and consistent achievement of business objectives. You will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining service standards, and driving profitability whilst creating an engaging workplace culture. The business is made up of a permanent (Swanston Street) kiosk as well as mobile take away kiosks in the form of vintage vans and a kiosk cart. Kiosks are all serviced by a central commercial kitchen and warehouse storage facility, all to be overseen by the Retail Manager.

Key responsibilities

Managing daily operations of take away kiosks including , including stock management, and cash handling

Recruiting,



training, supervising and motivating a team of staff members to deliver excellent customer service and maintain operational standards

Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, health and hygiene standards, and company policies at all times

Monitoring inventory levels, placing orders for supplies, and managing food costs to maintain profitability

Maintaining the organisation of the kiosks, central kitchen and service areas to the highest standards

Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally, resolving issues promptly and to customer satisfaction

Preparing accurate financial reports, analysing sales data, and identifying opportunities to improve revenue and operational efficiency

Implementing promotional activities and marketing initiatives to drive customer engagement and repeat business

Maintaining quality control over food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency with brand standards

Scheduling staff shifts, managing labour costs, and ensuring adequate coverage during peak trading periods

What we're looking for

Proven senior experience in a quick food management role, ideally in a take-away or quick service environment





Strong record of senior leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train and develop team members effectively

Robust experience in leading high volume environments

Excellent customer service orientation with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and diplomacy

Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and health compliance requirements

Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic financial management capabilities

Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required by the business

Knowledge of French culture and an ability to understand the spoken French language is desirable

A passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and maintaining high operational standards

Ability to work in a high pressure multi site operation, leading the growth of a brand
