About the Role:

The Procurement Specialist supports day-to-day procurement and supply chain operations within a food manufacturing environment. The role will focus on raw material planning and procurement, inbound logistics coordination (including international freight), supplier performance, procurement support for capital engineering projects and global category management. The role works closely with Production, Engineering, Planning, QA and Finance teams to ensure business continuity, cost management, and operational, efficiency

Key Responsibilities

Operational Procurement & Planning

- Execute end-to-end procurement activities for chemical raw materials, packaging, indirect spend and capital.
- Support production planning through inventory management and vendor scheduling.




- Monitor inventory levels and contribute to demand and supply planning decisions through the integrated business planning (IBP) process.
- Raise and manage purchase orders in line with production requirements and lead times.
- Coordinate inbound domestic and international logistics.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively manage delays or disruptions.
- Support compliance with import/export regulations, biosecurity, and documentation requirements.
- Assist with freight cost control and service performance tracking.
- Support supplier sourcing, evaluation, and onboarding activities.
- Assist with price negotiations and contract renewals
- Monitor supplier performance including delivery, quality and service levels
- Maintain supplier master data and procurement documentation.
- Maintaining accurate contract registers and supporting ongoing contract management activities.
- Support the global category management team.
- Support procurement activities for capital engineering and maintenance projects.
- Preparing documentation for various RFx processes and execution.
- Assist with sourcing equipment, spare parts and engineering services.
- Work closely with Engineering and project teams to support delivery milestones.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

- Ensure procurement activities align with internal governance standards, policies and food manufacturing compliance standards




- Maintain accurate records in ERP and procurement quality management systems
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and supply chain optimisation
- Support audits and business reporting as required

About You:

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience working in a regulated, quality driven manufacturing environment
- Experience in:
- Raw material planning and operational procurement.
- Logistics coordination including international ocean freight.
- Procurement for capital engineering projects.
- Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications OR minimum CIPS - Level 4 (or actively working towards certification).
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
- Understanding of procurement platforms.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
- Detail-oriented with robust organisational skills
- Proactive and practical problem-solver
- Good Commercial and technical acumen
