About the Role

Our government client is seeking an experienced Building Works Supervisor & Estimator to support the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade projects across a diverse government property portfolio. This challenging and rewarding role combines estimating, contract administration, project supervision, tenancy inspections, workplace health and safety leadership, and client relationship management. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while supporting the provision of Government Employee Housing services.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare high-quality quotations, estimates and tender documentation in accordance with industry best practice, client requirements and departmental standards.
- Supervise the delivery of construction, maintenance and refurbishment projects undertaken.
- Coordinate and support office staff, field personnel and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Undertake property inspections, tenancy management activities and maintenance assessments on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
- Monitor project quality, compliance and contractual obligations.
- Promote and maintain a robust workplace health and safety culture across all projects and work sites.
- Conduct WHS audits, inspections and plant and equipment checks.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) are in place for all works.
- Work collaboratively with Regional WHS Advisors and WHS Manager to ensure compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.




- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand services and support business growth.

About You

- Experience supervising construction, maintenance or building projects.
- Strong estimating, quotation and tender preparation skills.
- Sound knowledge of building industry practices, construction processes and contract management.
- Proven ability to coordinate contractors and project teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Mandatory Requirements

- Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
- Highly Desirable: Trade qualification or other construction industry-related qualification.
- Highly Desirable: Experience within government, social housing, facilities maintenance or building services environments.
- Highly Desirable: Knowledge of Queensland construction, WHS and compliance requirements.
