About the Role

As HR Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day HR function for one of Australia’s leading agricultural businesses. Supporting a workforce of approximately 70 employees, you will work closely with operational and executive leaders across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, workforce compliance and manager support.

Supported by an external specialist HR advisory partner, you will manage routine and operational HR matters internally, recognise matters requiring specialist input and translate external advice into practical actions for the business. This is a hands-on, site-connected role suited to an experienced HR generalist who can balance sound process with pragmatic operational support.

Some of the key responsibilities include:





HR operations and compliance

Recruitment, retention and onboarding

Employee relations and case management

Coaching managers and providing practical HR advice

Organisational development and continuous improvement initiatives

Stakeholder engagement and coordination with external advisers

About You

To be successful in securing this position, you will need:

Previous experience in a HR Manager or a comparable people-focused role.

Sound working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and applicable modern awards together with judgement to seek specialist guidance where required.

Demonstrated experience managing routine employee relations, performance, conduct and attendance matters.

Demonstrated ability to identify complex, sensitive or high-risk matters and escal

Experience working collaboratively with external HR specialists, employment lawyers or other professional advisers.

Ability to translate specialist advice into practical internal processes, documentation and manager actions.

Experience in recruitment and onboarding.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to build effective working relationships with employees and managers at different organisational levels.

Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

Competence with Microsoft Office and HR information systems or the ability to quickly develop proficiency.

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Management, Psychology or related fields

Ongoing professional development in human resources or employment relations.
