About the Role

As the Mental Health Team Lead, you will provide clinical leadership, supervision, and operational coordination to a multidisciplinary mental health team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented, person-centred care while supporting staff development, service quality, and collaborative community partnerships.

Reporting to the Community Manager, you will oversee a team of mental health clinicians and contribute to improved health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities across Armajun sites and mobile outreach services.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise, and mentor mental health clinicians.
- Coordinate referrals, clinical workloads, and caseload allocation.
- Provide expert mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions.
- Support risk assessment, crisis response, and safeguarding practices.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary care planning and case reviews.
- Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally safe care.
- Drive quality improvement, clinical governance, and service development initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships with families, carers, community services, and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance requirements.

About You

To be successful,



you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related mental health discipline.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Medicare Provider Number and deliver services under the Better Access initiative.
- Eligibility for qualified registration or membership (AASW, APS, PACFA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Significant senior clinical experience in mental health assessment and therapeutic intervention.
- Experience with evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, DBT, and EMDR.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice, care coordination, and NDIS pathways.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally safe services to Aboriginal children, families, and communities.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence, Working With Children Check, and National Police Check.
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology or Educational & Developmental Psychology.
- Previous experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO).
