What you'll do

The Education and Integrity portfolio brings together both education compliance and education programs within a single division. It is responsible for promoting and upholding education integrity and compliance, strategic program delivery and supporting the enrichment and development of the Victorian Catholic education system.

our Assurance and Integrity team is a dedicated group passionate about upholding and maintaining the highest standards in education compliance.

The key purpose of this role is to work closely with the team to ensure that Victorian Catholic schools meet minimum standards, including the Child Safe Standards. This is achieved by overseeing the school review program, where the VCEA conducts compliance assessments for over 100 Catholic schools annually.

This team is responsible for overseeing several critical programs, including School Registrations, Complaints Handling and Emergency Management, while fostering a culture of risk assurance and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

The Assurance Advisor, School Compliance is an important role in supporting VCEA to ensure that Victorian Catholic schools meet minimum standards, including the Child Safe Standards.

You will have an understanding of key legislative and regulatory frameworks, within education or a complimentary industry . Your compliance and regulatory expertise may have been gained in other sectors.

Your communication skills will have been refined over the years, bringing with you an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.





You will assist in assessing compliance of schools and school boarding premises with the minimum standards for registration and in moderating assessments to ensure quality and consistency with the requirements of the minimum standards.

The role supports and assists in monitoring quality, timeliness and performance against agreed key performance indicators. You will also assist with the analysis of school compliance data to identify issues, risks and emerging trends, contributing to internal reporting and the preparation of the annual compliance report to the VRQA.

With a strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset, you will identify and elevate risks, contribute to risk mitigation strategies, and support the delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of the team’s workplan. You will maintain your professional and technical knowledge through ongoing consultation, professional development and engagement with relevant networks.

Qualifications, experience and requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, audit, compliance, legal or other relevant field.

A minimum of two (2) years' experience in education administration, law, audit, compliance, risk or a related field.

Must hold and maintain a valid Victorian driver's license, have access to a reliable car and be willing to travel to schools in metropolitan and regional Victoria.
