FIFO Mechanic Roles - Trailer / Road Transport / HD Fitters (WA & NT)
Location: Goldfields, Pilbara, Mid-West & Northern Territory
Rate: $75.00/hr | $80.00/hr | $85.00/hr + super on all hours | Weekly pay
Roster: 2:1 FIFO ONLY
Contract: Temp-to-perm with long-term opportunities

About the Roles
These opportunities suit trade-qualified mechanics with strong hands-on experience across trailers, heavy road transport fleets and/or mining mobile plant. You will be maintaining critical vehicles and equipment in safety-focused workshop and site environments, with explicit temp-to-perm pathways for the right people.
Positions Available
- Trailer Mechanic / Trailer Assistant (TA) - $75.00/hr + super on all hours
- Heavy Road Transport Mechanic - $80.00/hr + super on all hours
- Heavy Diesel / HD Fitter - $85.00/hr + super on all hours
Roster & Mobilisation
- WA roles (Goldfields, Pilbara, Mid-West): 2:1 FIFO with flights offered from Perth only
- Northern Territory roles: 2:1 FIFO with flights covered from Brisbane and Darwin only
- If you live outside these departure points, you will need to make your own way to and from the project
Duties Include
- Diagnose, service and repair trailers, heavy road transport vehicles and/or mining mobile plant
- Complete planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change-outs
- Inspect braking, suspension, coupling, hydraulic and driveline systems (role dependent)
- Maintain service records and report defects in line with site and workshop standards
- Work safely within FIFO mine site and workshop environments
- Support fleet and plant uptime across haulage and production operations
Requirements
- Nationally recognised Heavy Diesel / Heavy Vehicle trade certificate (Trailer Assistant applicants: relevant trailer workshop experience considered)
- Minimum 2+ years' post-trade experience working in Australia
- Proven experience across one or more of: trailers / road trains, heavy road transport fleets, or mining mobile plant
- Experience with Kenworth, Mack, Drake and/or Bruce Rock equipment highly regarded
- Experience on CAT 980+ loaders and equivalent CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi mining/civil equipment highly regarded (HD Fitter stream)
- Current C-Class Manual Driver's Licence
- Valid National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months)
- Ability to provide 2 x recent work references
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
