About the role

The Workplace Relations Consultant is a client-facing consulting role responsible for delivering high-quality workplace relations advice and support across a diverse client portfolio. The role provides practical, commercially focused and legally informed workplace relations services to employers across a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters. The Consultant is expected to independently manage client matters, deliver timely advice and maintain strong client relationships. This is a fully billable consulting role. The role holder is expected to spend the majority of their time delivering chargeable services directly to clients and achieving agreed utilisation, revenue and client service targets.

Three days per week onsite or at client sites as required

Key responsibilities

- Provide workplace relations advice and support to clients across matters including performance management, employee misconduct and disciplinary processes, employee complaints and grievances, workplace conflict and interpersonal disputes, employment contracts and employment conditions, Modern Award interpretation and application,



National Employment Standards and Fair Work Act obligations, workplace policies and procedures, probation management, absenteeism and attendance management, termination and separation processes, restructuring and organisational change support, and general employee relations and people management matters
- Deliver practical, risk-based and commercially sound advice that supports both compliance and effective business outcomes
- Manage client matters from initial enquiry through to resolution
- Prepare advice, correspondence, reports, letters, policies and supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate client records and case management documentation
- Build strong and trusted relationships with clients
- Respond to client enquiries promptly and professionally
- Manage multiple client matters simultaneously while meeting agreed service standards and deadlines
- Conduct client meetings, case discussions and advisory consultations
- Conduct low to moderate complexity workplace investigations where required, undertake interviews, collect evidence and prepare investigation documentation
- Maintain agreed billable utilisation targets and accurately record time and manage billable activities

About you

- Experience in workplace relations, employee relations, human resources, employment law or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of Australian workplace relations legislation and employment obligations
- Experience managing employee relations and workplace matters
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
- Strong stakeholder engagement and client management capability
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Experience within a consulting or professional services workplace (desirable)
- Experience conducting workplace investigations (desirable)
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Law or a related field (desirable)
