Key responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on heritage management
- Conduct assessments of archaeological and cultural heritage sites
- Prepare transparent, accurate documentation and reports
- Review development proposals for heritage impacts
- Coordinate and support field investigations
- Liaise with clients,
regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best-practice standards
- Contribute to heritage conservation strategies
- Maintain project records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate heritage considerations into project planning and delivery
About you
- Demonstrated experience in heritage advisory, archaeology, or cultural heritage management, including site assessments and reporting
- Strong knowledge of relevant heritage legislation, planning frameworks, and industry standards applicable in Victoria and Australia
- Proficiency in research, analysis, and documentation, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with clients, government agencies, Traditional Owners, and community groups
- Project coordination abilities, including time management, organisation, and attention to detail across multiple concurrent projects
- Capability to work safely and effectively in field environments, including participation in archaeological surveys and site inspections
- Relevant tertiary qualification in archaeology, heritage conservation, history, anthropology, or a related discipline
- Experience with GIS or spatial data tools, and standard office software, is highly regarded
- Commitment to ethical practice, inclusive collaboration, and the respectful treatment of cultural heritage
